The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) is the regional council for Central Ohio, made up of more than 95 local governments across a 15-county region. MORPC is the regional voice, trusted convener, and catalyst, bringing Central Ohio communities together to collaborate on best practices and plan for the future growth and sustainability of the region.
Beyond its core role in regional transportation planning, MORPC offers expertise in research and forecasting, public policy, and funding, and convenes member governments, nonprofits, educational institutions, and civic-minded businesses around shared regional priorities.
The Regional Data Roundtable (RDR) is a top-level advisory roundtable of data experts from the public, private, nonprofit, and academic sectors. Members evaluate and advise the Commission and MORPC staff on matters of regional importance pertaining to data, and advance data policies and strategic actions that increase access to open data in Central Ohio.
The RDR's vision is to make Central Ohio a leader in using data to improve the quality of life for all residents. It hosts Data Day each year and supports ongoing working groups on cybersecurity, data, and information sharing.
Every three years, the RDR attempts to define the current opportunity space for advancing the use of data and analytics via the Regional Data Agenda. The Regional Data Agenda establishes four focus areas and four action pillars for the 2026-2028 timeframe. Efforts in these four areas support improved quality of life, health, and safety through access to transportation and mobility options, appropriate housing, a quality environment, and employment opportunities.
